Welcome to PMAC, the "Poor Mans Adventure Club"!
Mission Statement: It is our mission to get together for friendship and fellowship while enjoying all nature has to offer on a working persons budget.
Current P.M.A.C. Membership Qualifications: 1. Both men and women are welcome in the club. (The “Mans” part of Poor Mans Adventure Club is an abbreviation of HUMAN, so the acronym P.M.A.C. will work.) 2. No one under the age of 18 without parental consent and parental participation. We are not a babysitting service!
Member Meetings: 1. Member Meetings, when held, are on the Second Saturday of the month. - Very Very Very Rare. 2. Each meeting consists of a “daytrip” type of adventure similar to our inaugural hike. 3. Meetings are used to discuss club business, projects, and upcoming trips.
Adventure Equipment Guidelines: The whole point of this club is having fun on a working mans budget. With that in mind: 1. Make as much of your equipment as you can yourself. P.M.A.C. has classes available if there is enough interest. 2. Keep the cost of the things you buy to a minimum. Try searching clearance sales, used equipment, etc. 3. Try to avoid “uni-tasker” equipment. All equipment should be able to be used in multiple Adventures.
Adventure Trip Guidelines: 1. Trips should cost as little as possible, try to spend no more than $150 per person (except for equipment), for access fees and travel expenses. (Carpooling and camping are an excellent way to keep costs down.)
